First opening in the West End in 2006 at the Aldwych Theatre, Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage is the unprecedented live experience of the classic tale, seen by millions across the globe. Following the well-known story of Baby and Johnny, this dance-filled, heart-pounding story salsas into London’s Phoenix Theatre for a limited 30 performances this Christmas.

Set in the summer of 1963, 17 year-old Francis “Baby” Houseman is on vacation with her older sister and parents. Staying at a resort in New York’s Catskill Mountains, she is left to amuse herself each day. Only when she stumbles across an all-night dance party does she begin to fantasise about the raunchy moves and saucy rhythms. Spotting the irresistible dance instructor Johnny Castle, Baby’s life is about to change forever as she is thrown into days of dancing, both on and off stage. A tale of two young spirits trying to find their place, Dirty Dancing is the powerfully moving story of love, lust and dance!

Featuring hugely memorable songs such as “Hungry Eyes”, “Do You Love Me?” and the iconic “I’ve Had the Time of My Life”, Dirty Dancing is the phenomenon that is continuing to wow audiences to this day! Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage is directed by Federico Bellone, with choreography by the acclaimed Gillian Bruce. Produced by Karl Sydow and Paul Elliott, the musical features design by Robert Comotti.

Lewis Griffiths stars as Johnny Castle (Jersey Boys, Ghost the Musical, Legally Blonde), opposite Katie Hartland in her professional debut as Baby Houseman and Carlie Milner as Penny Johnson. Further cast members include Simone Craddock as Marjorie Houseman, Roger Martin as Max Kellerman, Jo Servi as Tito Suarez, Lizzie Ottley as Lisa Houseman, Michael Kentas as Billy Kostecki, Greg Fossard as Neil Kellerman, Tony Stansfield as Mr Schumacher, Daniela Pobega as Elizabeth and Camilla Rowland as Vivian.

Additional cast members include Gabby Antrobus, Simon Campbell, Robert Colvin, Michael Cookson, Katie Eccles, Beth Highsted, Matthew James Hinchliff, Samuel John Humphreys, Megan Louch, Ashley Rumble, Callum Sterling and Austin Wilks, with Karl James Wilson as Alternate Johnny Castle.

Show Lengths and Times

Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage opens at the Phoenix Theatre London on December 6th and will play a limited 30 performances until December 21st 2016. Performances are at 7:30pm every evening.

Show running time is 2 hours and 30 minutes, including an interval.
